Lindsey is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Over the last nine years, Lindsey has worked successfully with children, teenagers, adults of all ages, couples, families and groups.

 

Lindsey believes in working collaboratively with her clients and empowering them to make important changes in their lives.  She is passionate about her work and is also committed to continuous growth and learning in her professional and personal life.

 

Lindsey provides her clients an empathic and non-judgmental counselling experience, where individual differences and stories are embraced and stories of success and resilience are created.

 

Her background is in Narrative Therapy and she has developed a thoughtful and effective way to also incorporate evidence-based practices such as Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioual Therapy (CBT) into her work.

Lindsey has completed advanced training in Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Divorce and Mediation. She is a member of the Collaborative Divorce Vancouver team, working as both a Divorce Coach and Child/Youth Specialist. Lindsey is also a Charter member of the B.C. Collaborative Roster Society and the B.C. Hear the Child Roster.  She has presented her Collaborative Divorce work at International forums, including the International Association of Collaborative Practice and the International Marriage and Family Therapy conferences. Lindsey continues to develop speaking engagements and teachings on the incorporation of Narrative Therapy into the Collaborative practice. 

 

Lindsey also offers Clinical Supervision services to therapists, support workers, students and therapy teams. She believes in the importance of communities working together to enhance their therapeutic skills and to offer one another support through challenging cases. Lindsey encourages safety, empowerment and accountability in her work as a Clinical Supervisor.

 

In addition to her private practice, Lindsey has worked for public and non-profit organizations.  She has worked as a family counsellor with Family Services of Greater Vancouver, as a clinical addictions counsellor at Maple Ridge Treatment Center, as a group facilitator for parents of children with Down syndrome at the Down Syndrome Research Foundation and as a counsellor at SHARE Family & Community Services.

 

Lindsey has developed and facilitated workshops and groups on topics including anger management, stress management, trauma, addictions, mindfulness and depression.

 

Lindsey's role as a mother of twins and stepmother of two has enrichened both her personal and professional lives. Both the challenges and blessings have allowed her new perspectives to draw on in her work.

Lindsey sees clients in both Vancouver and Coquitlam/Port Moody locations.
